Esenin storms home at Newmarket on debut.
Congratulations to owner Michael Tabor, who bought the Danehill colt at a yearling sales price of 200,000 guineas in the autumn, and to the team of Kingwood Stud and breeder Verity Bourne, on the impressive success of this colt by Danehill out of Boojum.

This product of a highly compatible, strongly recommended mating is now quoted at 25/1 for next year's 2000 Guineas.

Addeyll wins maiden at second time of asking
Congratulations to breeder Barry Taylor and Kingwood Stud, where the 2yr old colt Addeyll was reared, on producing yet another quality racehorse. Addeyll is a full brother to Stakes winning filly Kalindi, and they are the result of highly compatible recommended matings between Barry's mare Rohita and Efisio. Addeyll had run a good second on his debut at York to the promising Henry Cecil trained Western Verse.

Mon General makes promising debut at Saint-Cloud
On rock hard, uneven ground that the Saint-Cloud administration quite disgracefully had the effrontery to class as "Good", Wafik Said's Mon General led all the way to win the Prix Bubbles for unraced 3-yr-olds in impressive fashion. Mon General was purchased at Deauville on our assessment of the high compatibility of the mating between Cadeaux Genereux and Manureva.

Our recommended matings score today in Adelaide Stakes races
Brilliant 2yr old Russian Caravan (the product of a highly recommended compatible mating between Dehere/Serene Look) made it two wins from two starts in Adelaide's Group 3 "The Janz".

Meanwhile recommended mating Be My Princess (Chief's Crown/My Dear Rebecca) added black type to an impressive career record in winning the Listed Baker Young Trophy.

Moselle wins Listed Middleton Stakes at York.
Six years of planning was finally rewarded when the compatibly mated Moselle ran out a convincing winner at York on Wednesday. Beautifully ridden by top jockey Richard Quinn she ran on strongly in a time not far short of that recorded in the much harder fought Dante Stakes one race later.

We attended the 1994 Tattersalls December Sales with the express purpose of purchasing a mare to put to what we perceived as a highly compatible stallion, Mtoto. The mare Miquette was a first mare for breeder David Matthias, and the first product of the mating was Moselle's elder brother Macabeo (recent winner of a £13,000 hurdle race in Ireland for trainer Noel Meade, having seemingly found a new lease of life as a five-year-old). Miquette went back to Mtoto the next year and the product was Moselle. Miquette unfortunately died the following year.

Macabeo himself fetched 67,000 Guineas (the second highest price ever for a Mtoto yearling at that time) at the Newmarket December sales, and ,along with our partners, Gary and Lesley Middlebrook, we were fortunate enough to purchase Moselle a year later from her breeder.

Recommended mating Kaiapoi wins again at Chester
Kaiapoi proved himself something of a course specialist with another Chester win, and notched a further success for breeder David Martin and his mare Salanka. By the highly compatible Elmaamul, Kaiapoi has now earned more than his stakes winning half-sister by Inchinor, Penmayne, the product of another compatible mating.

Deep Blue springs 25/1 surprise in large field at Leicester
Four year old Deep Blue, a half brother to our old favourite Tumbleweed Ridge, by Lake Coniston, won well over 7F at Leicester yesterday. He is the fourth winner from four Brain compatibly planned matings for his dam Billie Blue, with multiple Group 3 winner Tumbleweed Ridge still the pick of these.

Rosi's Boy's Newmarket win earns him 40/1 quote for the Derby
Three seasons ago Generous Rosi and brother Generous Libra came first and second in Newmarket's Listed Marshall Stakes. They were the result of highly compatible matings with second top rated Generous, recommended in our original pedigree analysis of their dam Come On Rosi performed in 1993. Top rated as even more compatible for Come On Rosi in that study, was Caerleon, and our enthusiasm for the mating was such that Caerleon was also used twice. The first product of that mating was the Stakes performer Auntie Rose, a 4 yr old filly unplaced yesterday in the Listed Dahlia Stakes behind our own filly Moselle who ran fourth.

The second product of the Caerleon mating is the 3 yr old colt Rosi's Boy, winner of yesterday's Listed Newmarket Stakes.Rosi's Boy is trained by John Dunlop who had previously won the same race with Shirley Heights en route to winning the 1978 English Derby.
