Some cheering news from Zimbabwe.
One of Brain International’s oldest clients reports from Zimbabwe:- “We continue to have a
great run. Last year we won Champion Breeder overall, Champion Breeder of two-year-olds,
Leading Breeder on Average Earnings, and were owners of the Champion Sire. In Zimbabwe's 2000 Guineas
our stallion bred the 1st, 3rd and 5th place, all with our own mares.
These successes seem to have occurred not only through arranging compatible matings but, after 15 years, these
compatible matings are through mares who were themselves bred compatibly at our stud".

Reverence repays owners' patience in Haydock Conditions
race.
Gary and Lesley Middlebrook, and trainer Eric Alston, are
starting to reap the rewards of patience, after Reverence's
catalogue of injuries in the last eighteen months. Today at
Haydock, over the course and distance where he won the Sprint
Cup two seasons ago Reverence showed he is on the way
back as he proved too fast in a facinating Conditions race.
It is worth adding that the fast ground was far from ideal
for this product of a highly compatible mating between
Mark Of Esteem and the Middlebrooks' mare Imperial
Bailiwick.

Home bred Cartimandua shows her class to take Nottingham
Listed race.
Congratulations to Mrs Fiona Williams on the stylish win of
Cartimandua, the compatibly mated product of her mare
Agrippina with Medicean. Cartimandua
looked a class act as she made light work of defeating a competitive
Listed field. A great example of the importance of choosing
compatible stallions for your mare.
11/05/2008
Deerfield Farm score again in Chester's Group 3 Ormonde
Stakes.
Macarther, the product of a highly recommended compatible
mating between Montjeu and Deerfield's mare Out
West, ran out an impressive winner of the 13 furlong Group
3 race. Judging by that effort, there looks to be even better
to come in the near future.
12/04/2008
Recommended yearling purchase Dealer Principal wins the
Group 1 Rosehill Guineas in Sydney.
Dealer Principal, a 117 ***** recommended yearling
purchase, owned by Peter Horwitz, was a convincing winner
of the 2000 metre race at Rosehill. By Flying Spur
out of Volte, Dealer Principal came home a convincing
winner suggesting a bright future.
16/04/2008
Recommended mating second to Infallible
Kylane 66/1, bred by David Martin, ran a cracking second
to Infallible in the Group 3 Nell Gwn Stakes over 7
furlongs at Newmarket. A filly by Kyllachy out of
Penmayne, this product of a highly recommended mating
won two races as a two year old before making this impressive
3 yr old debut.

Listed win for the highly compatible Cartimandua. Another
black type success for Brain owner/breeders.
Cartimandua showed a clean pair of heals to a Listed
field of predominantly older, more experienced horses.
Bred by her owner Mrs Fiona Williams, Cartimandua is
the product of the highly recommended mating between Medicean
and Fiona's home bred mare Agrippina. Cartimandua won
the 6 furlong Listed sprint by 4 lengths, going away.
Last month, her 4 yr old half sister Terentia , another
strongly recommended home bred mating by Diktat, won a 16
runner 0-100 five furlong handicap from Corridor Creeper at
York, further emphasising the success that arranging compatible
matings fosters.
14/10/2006
Just rewards for Pride in the Group 1 Champion Stakes
at Newmarket. Yet another Group 1 success for Brain clients.
Pride romped home by over 3 lengths in this 10 furlong
event, more than confirming her Arc De Triomphe form. (please
see below).
01/10/2006
Arc second for Pride at Longchamp, while Reverence take
second in the Prix DeL'Abbaye.
Pride finished strongly behind Rail Link and may have
been unlucky, unable to make her run until too late. Pride
is the product of a mating with Peintre Celebre we identified
as highly compatible, rating 138 for owner/breeder Sven Hanson
in 1999 when we analysed his mare Specificity. Reverence
had to overcome a poor draw, but ended a highly productive
season on a strong note.
02/09/2006
Reverence wins Group 1 Haydock Sprint
Reverence made it two major Group 1 wins in less than
a fortnight for owner-breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook
when he ran out a most convincing winner of arguably Europe's
top 6 furlong sprint. He was always to the fore and easily
held off the strong challenge of Quito in second place.
Reverence wins Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes
at York for owner-breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook
Reverence ran out an emphatic winner of this highly
competitive 5 furlong sprint. and looks destined for further
Group 1 glories later in the season. Winner of the Group 2
Temple Stakes at Sandown earlier in the season,
Reverence is the product of a mating we identified as
highly compatible when we analyses the pedigree of dam
Imperial Bailiwick, with the then unfashionable stallion
Mark Of Esteem rating 145.
24/09/2005
Salamanca wins the Listed Rosemary Stakes at Newmarket
Congratulations to breeder David Martin for his continued
success with his mare Salanka, whose daughter Salamanca
by Pivotal today beat a field of seventeen in the Listed
race over a mile. It is almost exactly a year since
Salamanca won the valuable Watership Down Sales race at
Newbury. We identified Salamanca's sire Pivotal as
a highly compatible 126 rated mating when we analysed Salanka,
at a time when Pivotal's nomination fee was a fraction of
today's price. Salanka is also dam of the smart
Penmayne by Inchinor, another Brain recommended mating.
05/09/2005
Second generation Brain mating Abigail Pett wins
Group 3 Round Tower Stakes.
Breeder Barry Taylor's policy of performing Brain compatible
matings reaped further dividends at The Curragh yesterday
when Abigail Pett beat a good quality field in the
6 Furlong Group 3 Round Tower Stakes. Rating 142, the
mating between Medicean and the Efisio mare Kalindi,
is the most successful Medicean has had to date. Kalindi is
herself a Stakes winning product of a highly compatible Brain
recommended mating. The win follows Abigail Pett's
success in the Listed Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown
in July to make it 3 wins from 4 starts for this promising
filly.
22/08/2005
USA Group 1 success for Brain recommended mating Singhalese.
Congratulations to breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook on
breeding Group 1 Del Mar Oaks winner Singhalese
by Singspiel out of their homebred Efisio mare Baize.
. The mating rating 141 once again highlights the rewards
to be reaped from arranging compatible matings.
18/06/2005
105 ***** rated Pacific Pride an impressive runner
up in the Coventy Stakes.
"Looks the pick of the calalogue" was our comment after analysing
Pacific Pride, as one of a large number of Sales yearlings
analysed for clients last September. A rating of 105*****
is about the highest rating we have given any horse in the
past few years. The least experienced runner in the entire
field, Pacific Pride was having only his second start
as he finished 1¾ lengths behind Red Ransom colt Red Clubs
and 1¼ lengths ahead of third placegetter Amadeus Wolf.
But the client to whom this yearling was recommended failed
to secure the colt, dropping out of the Doncaster Sales bidding
at 50,000 guineas, some way short of the 88,000 he finally
fetched.
18/06/2005
Recommended €8000 purchase Titus Alone wins Listed
Windsor Castle Stakes at York's Royal Ascot.
Congratulations to David Allan on his shrewd acquisition of
149*** rated Titus Alone, a purchase recommended by
us as one of a large number of sales yearlings analysed last
September. Titus Alone ran out an impressive winner
for Allan's Hintlesham Racing, coming home a length ahead
of Norfolk Stakes runner up Strike Up The Band.A
great advertisement for the power of pedigree analysis as
a contributor towards successful sales purchasing decisions,
Titus Alone romped home to make it three wins from
three starts. By the unfashionable Titus Livius out of
Swan Sea by Sea Hero, Titus Alone looks to have
a bright future, with entries in several of the valuable Sales
races.

Recommended mating Motivator wins English Derby
for breeder Deerfield Farm.
Congratulations to Deerfield Farm on breeding Motivator,
unbeaten winner of the English Derby, the Dante
Stakes and the Racing Post Trophy. Motivator
is by Montjeu out of Deerfield Farm's Gone West mare,
Out West. Congratulations also to trainer Michael Bell
for the composed and professional manner he ensured success
of one of the most impressive Derby winners in recent years.
For Motivator simply annihilated the best 3 yr olds
in Europe, in much the same way as his sire Montjeu
had done before him.Montjeu was a strongly recommended,
highly compatible 132 rating stallion when we analysed the
pedigree of Out West for Deerfield Farm in October,
2000. Deerfield also have bred a yearling full brother to
Motivator.
Motivator's successes follow those of recommended
mating High Accolade for Deerfield Farm, owned by another
Brain client Lady Tennant. High Accolade, a St Leger
second place getter, has won the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge
Stakes (twice), Ascot's King Edward VII Stakes (Group
2) and the Predominate Stakes (Listed). He is by
Mark Of Esteem (compatibility rating 117) out of
Generous Lady.
01/04/2005
Cape Royal gets us off to a good start for the
English flat season.
5 yr old Cape Royal put up his best performance to
date in leading all the way to win the Stanleybet Stakes Handicap
at Doncaster quite comfortably from a field of twelve. Cape
Royal is the product of a highly compatible recommended mating
between Indigo, owned by breeder David Brotherton,
and Prince Sabo.
31/03/2005
Charge Forward wins Group 1 Galaxy in Australia.
3 yr old Charge Forward was bought as a yearling by
longstanding Brain client Peter Horwitz on our recommendation
after we had identified the mating as compatible when analysing
the mare Sydney's Dream for here owners Tyreel Stud. The high
rating for the Red Ransom mating was circulated to clients
when the yearling was sent to the sales as part of our service
to sales Clients. Yesterday Charge Forward beat a high
class field of thirteen to land the Group 1 sprint
by a neck and one and a half lengths.
01/01/2005
Crown Prosecutor gives us great start to 2005 in
Australia.
4 yr old Crown Prosecutor's win the $340,000 Perth
Cup (Group 2) is our first Stakes winner of 2005. When
we analysed the mare Dark Hope in 1997, Grand Lodge
top rated at 118, and it is this highly recommended mating
that has produced Stakes winner Crown Prosecutor. He
won the 2 mile event by a half length and 3 lengths.
23/10/2004
Motivator follows in High Accolade's footsteps
for Deerfield Farm.
Congratulations to breeder Deerfield Farm on breeding the
winner of the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy, Motivator,
by Montjeu out of their Gone West mare, Out West. Montjeu
was a strongly recommended, highly compatible 132 rating stallion
when we analysed Out West in October, 2000. Motivator follows
St Leger second place getter High Accolade as another
high profile product of their well managed breeding program,
and winters as one of the favourites for 2005 English Derby.

Binding comes from last place to win Group 2
Sandown Guineas in Australia.
Struggling to handle the heavy track,Binding (please
see 06/11/04 below) came with a sustained run in the final
two furlongs of this 1600 metres event, and went to the line
easing up a length ahead of Caulfied Guineas runner up Barely
A Moment.
In Queensland that afternoon our own Green Lagonda
broke his duck at Brisbane's Eagle Farm, running a fast time
in beating Manilla Boy and hot favourite Ben Hur, the latter
a runaway winner on a dead Doomben track seven days ago, in
the 1000 metres QRSE QUIZAS 2 yr olds race.
We originally raced Green Lagonda's dam Fidelis in the
1980's where she was a metropolitan winner in Sydney, having
bought her at the 1984 Sydney Yearling Sales.
Four years ago we took over ownership of her once again
as a 17 yr old, and she has now bred for us the promising
(late developer) Tanuki, 2001 by Piccolo in training
in Canberra - Green Lagonda 2002 by Crown Jester -
a 2003 yearling colt by Fappiano stallion Press Card
(Press Card is out of Courtly Dee the grandam of Green Desert)
- and a 2004 colt foal by Bureaucracy. She is now in
foal to 1987 English Two Thousand Guineas second placegetter
(to Don't Forget Me) and Derby second placegetter (behind
Reference Point) Bellotto in South Australia.

out of Stuart's Al Hareb mare Suggessive, a mating
that rated a very high 133 when we performed our compatibility
analysis for Suggestive.
06/11/2004

metres at Flemington
.
Congratulations to breeder Steve Tregea for his success

his mare Open Question (by Alleged). Binding is now
favourite for the Sandown Guineas.
30/10/2004
Squaw Dance wins the Listed Montrose Stakes at
Newmarket for breeder Michael Page
.
Squaw Dance is by Indian Ridge, and rated a very
high 128 when matched with the highly compatible Night Shift
mare Likely Story. Trained by William Haggas, she ran
on strongly to beat the hot favourite Something Exciting with
something in hand.
On the same programme, Fantasy Ride came an excellent
second in the Zetland Stakes behind runaway winner Ayam
Zamam. Fantasy Ride, bred by Andy Holder, is by the highly
compatible Bahhare out of Shirley Heights mare Grand Splendour,
a mating that rated a highly compatible 112.
18/09/2004
Salamanca wins the Watership Down Stud Sales Race
at Newbury
.
Congratulations to breeder David Martin for his continued
success with his mare Salanka, whose daughter by Pivotal
today won this valuable 6½ furlong race in a tight three way
finish. We identified Salamanka's sire Pivotal as a
highly compatible 126 rated mating when we analysed Salanka,
at a time when Pivotal's nomination fee was a fraction of
today's price. Salanka is also dam of the smart
Penmayne by Inchinor, another Brain recommended mating.
05/09/2004
Group 1 Stanleybet Sprint Cup win for "second generation"
Brain mating Tante Rose
.
Racing off the pace, Tante Rose swooped with a late
run to get up on the line to defeat last year's winner Somnus
in this high quality 6 furlong event. Tante Rose is
the daughter of the smart filly My Branch, another
highly recommended Brain mating. Her win comes 8 years after
another Brain client bred Iktamal on our advice to
win the same Group 1 Haydock Sprint.
13/08/2004

Bop, Salamanka won this quality 6 furlong maiden

Rydal confirms promise in Sandown win
Soft ground and a stiffer track appear to have assisted
Rydal in winning this 5 furlong handicap for owner
breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. By Gilded Time out of
Tennis Partner, this was a highly recommended top rated mating
(109) when we analysed Tennis Partner.
09/08/2004
Brain recommended horses dominate weekend Group races
in Australia
In Sydney Charge Forward a recommended yearling
purchase won the Group 2 San Domenico Stakes, a race
for 3yr olds over 1000metres. In Melbourne the 9yr old product
of a Brain recommended mating, Le Zagaletta, won the
Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes over 1200 metres on a heavy
track at Caulfield.
01/08/2004
Group 2 second place for Into The Night
Into The Night made a highly promising return to
racing on Saturday at Rosehill in running second to the very
smart Spark Of Life in the Group 2 Missile Stakes over
1100 metres. Into The Night was held up early but his
late headway was not enough to catch the leader who won by
just under 3 lengths.
04/04/2004
Recommended yearling purchase Charge Forward just a half
neck away from a Group 1 Golden Slipper win in race record
time.
Charge Forward came so close to a Golden Slipper
win for one of our earliest clients, making it two consecutive
years that we have been in the frame (last year recommended
mating and Champion 2 yr old Hasna ran 3rd). He just failed
to peg back the worthy winner Dance Hero, but finished nearly
a length ahead of the filly Alinghi that had started one of
the shortest priced favourites in the history of this prestigeous
race.
20/03/2004
Another Group 1 success for recommended mating Sound Action
Brain rated compatible matings enjoyed further success
in feature races on Saturday 20th March. The highlight was
the win of recommended mating Sound Action in the Group
One Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill. With an Oaks win already to
her credit, this was Sound Action's 2nd Group One win.
Meanwhile recommended yearling Charge Forward emerged
as the clear 2nd favourite for the Golden Slipper with
a strong win in the Group 2 Todman Stakes. Other quality performances
came from recommended yearlings Forum Floozie and Legally
Bay who were Group One placed in the Coolmore Classic and
the Australia Stakes respectively.
21/02/2004
Group 1 Oakleigh Plate 2nd for Ancient Song
Recommended mating Ancient Song added further Group
success to her formidable record in running 2nd in the prestigious
Oakleigh Plate over 1100m at Caulfield, Melbourne,
on Saturday. The product of a highly compatible mating between
Canny Lad and Hello Lottie by Beau Sovereign, Ancient Song
reaffirmed the class that has already won her a Group 1 VRC
Salinger Stakes, and a Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes.
Since this was first up after a spell, there is undoubtedly
more still to come in the weeks ahead.
08/02/2004

at Flemington
Recommended yearling purchase Public Opinion, by

Listed win for Into The Night earns invitation to Hong
Kong
Into The Night won the $150,000 Listed Hilton International
Stakes at Flemington last Saturday 8 November. This was his
2nd successive win in this race which is the feature sprint
on the last day of the Flemington Cup Carnival. Carrying top-weight
of 58kg, Into The Night overcame a check 400 metres
from home which put him back to 3rd last place before storming
home to win very impressively. This was his 9th win from 23
starts and took his earnings to A$750,000.
As a further reward for his exploits of the last eight days,
Into The Night has now been invited to Hong Kong
for the Group 1 five furlong sprint on International Day,
14th December.
04/11/2003
Sensational first and second in the Group 1 VRC Stakes
for our Sydney agent Louis Mihalyka
Top rated recommended matings Ancient Song and
Into The Night, both owned and syndicated by our Sydney
agent Louis Mihalyka of Laurel Oak, had only a neck between
them in finishing first and second in this competitive
Group 1 event over six furlongs at Flemington at the start
of the Melbourne Cup carnival. Both were bred by Brain International
clients and subsequently bought by Laurel Oak in the knowledge
of their pedigree potential.
Ancient Song is by Canny Lad out of Hello
Lottie, a mating that rated 116 on our compatibility system
when the mare was analysed in 1997. Into The Night
is by Rhythm out of Marshow, and rated 144 when
the mare was first analysed by us, also in 1997.
13/09/2003
High Accolade runs a fine second in the Group 1 English
St Leger
Having already won the Listed Predominant Stakes at Goodwood
and the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Ascot, along with
a second in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes, High Accolade
rounded off a highly successful three-year-old season with
a fighting 2nd in the St Leger. Owned by Brain client Lady
Tenant, and bred on our mating planning advice by Deerfield
Farm, High Accolade is out of the Generous mare,
Generous Lady, by the highly compatible, top rated stallion
Mark Of Esteem.

rated mating, Tug Of Love, beautifully ridden by Frankie
Dettori, pushed his head in front when it mattered to win
the ladbrokes.com Stakes for owner breeder Denis Haynes.

the goods in Australian Stakes races, and the highly compatible
Pentastic has now made it 6 wins from 29 starts, winning
prize money of over A$1.5 million.

wins, ten seconds and eight thirds from 59 starts, with prize
money totalling A$1.2.
On the same afternoon in Sydney compatibly mated Oomph
won the Listed Sheraco Stakes over 1100 metres, for her third
Stakes win.
10/08/2003
Second generation Brain mating, Bay Tree, an impressive
winner of the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket
A filly by Daylami out of another Brain recommended mating
My Branch, Bay Tree made it two wins inside
a week for her owner/breeder Wafic Said and trainer Barry
Hills. The product of a high 122 and ***** rating,
Bay Tree won this Listed event unextended, and appears
to have even better ahead of her. The Fillies Mile and/or
the Rockfel Stakes may be the next start.
12/07/2003
Three wins in three starts for Brain 5 star recommended
yearling purchase Niagra Falls
Stuart Ramsey's 2yr old Niagra Falls just got up
to win the Listed Dequetteville Stakes in Adelaide
on Saturday, after experiencing just about as much trouble
as is possible in a 1000m race. We only give very few yearlings
a 5 star rating in any one year, but this filly by Danehill
out of Bracken Bank was one of them. She looks to have a bright
future.
9/07/2003
Brain recommended mating Hasna named Australia's Champion
2 yr old at last week's awards
In the space of just three months Hasna won the
Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes at Rosehill, Sydney 2nd
March - ran 3rd in the Group 1 Golden Slipper, again
at Rosehill, 12th April - ran away with the Group 1
Sires Produce Stakes at Randwick, 21st April, Sydney - and
3rd May was an impressive winner of the Group 1 Champagne
Stakes over 1600m at Randwick.
She is by Australian local bred stallion Snippets (by Lunchtime,
the damsire of Choisir), who stood at a relatively affordable
nomination fee. Snippets top rated when we matched Hasna's
dam They Say with stallions in our Australasian data
bank for her breeder Graeme Little.
24/06/2003
Brain advised matings yield one winner and two close seconds
at this year's Royal Ascot
As expected High Accolade was our main flag bearer
at Ascot this year, running away with the Group 2 King Edward
VII stakes in impressive fashion. He emphatically raised the
question as to who would have won the Derby if he had run?
Unluckiest loser of the whole meeting was undoubtedly
Helm Bank, badly blocked for a run twice while trying
to thread his way from last place in the final furlong of
the 29 runner Britannia Stakes, only to lose by a neck at
33/1 to a lone bolter on the far side of the course. A future
Group performer for sure.
He is the product of another Brain advised mating, as is
Foodbroker Founder, a fast finishing neck second in
the Listed Hampton Court Stakes, at 50/1.
ASCOT POST SCRIPT
The exploits of Choisir will hopefully have curtailed patronising
remarks sometimes made by Tony Morris in The Racing Post,
denigrating the quality of Australian racehorses.
Having said that, the racing media in this country as a
whole appear surprisingly oblivious to the fact that Choisir
himself is arguably not in the top 5 of Australian sprinters.
Five that come to mind that could be reasonably backed on
Australian form to beat Choisir are: Bel Esprit, Spinning
Hill, Yell, Falvelon, and Private Steer. As an example close
to home, our own Australiasian agent Louis Mihalyka races
Into The Night (see below), who beat Choisir fair and square
in the Group 1 Newmarket in March. Choisir has in fact won
only five of his nineteen Australian starts in three seasons
of racing. Perhaps his Ascot wins are more an indictment of
the mediocre quality English sprint racing than Choisir being
the superstar the racing world would wish him to be. Second
placegetter Acclamation in the King's Stand had an Official
rating of 105, while third placegetter Baron's Pit in the
Group 1 Golden Jubilee had an Official Rating of 108.
9/06/2003
Laurel Oak's Into The Night runs 3rd in $1 million Group
1 Stradbroke Hcp
Following his Group 2 win a week ago Into The Night
ran a blinder from a bad draw on ground that was against him
in this highly competitive Group 1 race on Saturday.
He will now have a break in preparation for the rich spring
sprints in Melbourne. The placing takes his prize money over
the $500,000 mark.

Top rated mating Cape Royal looks to have bright future
A rating of 106 is about as high as we ever get*, and that
was the score with Prince Sabo when we analysed the mare Indigo
for owner breeder David Brotherton. The product of that mating,
Cape Royal, had no problem dealing with the opposition
in a maiden over five furlongs at Nottingham yesterday under
restrained handling by Kieren Fallon. “We wouldn’t be looking
for too many handicaps with him” was trainer Lynda Ramsden’s
comment after the race.
* our ratings range from a perfect score of 100 to worst
score of 500+.

Top rated Coroner takes third place in the French Derby
behind unbeaten Dalakhani
Our analysis of the Green Desert mare Tamnia for Nawara
Stud in October 1998 identified Mtoto at the head of our list
of compatible stallions, rating a very high 115. The product
of the mating with Mtoto was sold as a yearling for just 19,000
guineas at the Tattersalls October Sales in 2001.
Coroner had a relatively modest two-year-old season,
but has progressed significantly as a three-year-old, winning
three of his five races and being placed in the other two.
Coroner's victories include the Group 2 Prix Hocquart
over 12 furlongs at Longchamp in early May.

Group 2 win for Laurel Oak’s Into The Night in Brisbane
Congratulations to our Australasian agent Louis Mihalyka
and his Laurel Oak syndicate, on their win in the 1200 metres
Group 2 QTC Cup with Into The Night at Eagle Farm Brisbane
on Saturday.
When we performed our pedigree analysis on the Marscay
mare Marshow in May 1997, the Mr Prospector stallion Rhythm
was identified as highly compatible and strongly recommended.
When Louis saw that the product of the mating with Rhythm
was being sold in the yearling sales in January 2000 he remembered
our recommendation and purchased the yearling on behalf of
the current syndicate of owners.
Into The Night has now won in excess of $400,000
in prize money for Louis and his syndicate.
28/05/2003
Prix du Mont de Po for top rated Fasliyev filly Angisse
at Chantilly
Having only her second start Angisse won this 1100
metre event by a comfortable 1 length and 1½. Rating a very
high 116 Fasliyev was a very strongly recommended choice to
breeder Michael Page.

Haydock's Tote Credit Club Silver Bowl (Showcase Handicap)
for Jazz Messenger

High Accolade wins the last of the Derby trials
Congratulations to owner Lady Tennant and breeder Deerfield
Farm on the win of High Accolade in Goodwood's Listed
Predominate Stakes over 11 furlongs. Ridden patiently by jockey
Martin Dwyer, this son of Mark Of Esteem swooped late to win
going away.
Mark Of Esteem was identified by us as a top rated, highly
compatible potential mating when we analysed the mare Generous
Lady for her owners in December 1998 .

Two inter-state Group 1s in a day for Brain client Graeme
Little in Australia
Congratulations to Graeme on breeding Vettori 3yr old filly
Sound Action, winner of the Group 1 Australasian Oaks
over 2025 metres at Morphettville, South Australia, today.
When we analysed the mare Dance With Royalty in 1997 our comment
on the Vettori mating was "A mating with Vettori stands out....must
have a great chance of producing something special". The filly
looks to have a bright future, winning by 2¾ lengths and 5
lengths.
Graeme's other success was in the 1600 metre Champagne
Stakes at Randwick in Sydney, where Hasna never looked
in danger in winning her second Group 1 race in two weeks
